Hi there!
How are you guys? Wonder if someone can help me with this basic question about iweb and domains...

I have an Iweb site and a bluehost domain. I keept my me.com location and forwarded my domain to it (maybe it was a stupid thing to do, but there was a message at blue host not recommending to change the CNAME and I kind of went for it).
Right know I'm a bit uncomfortable with the me.com showing as my web site address.

So I imagine I have 2 options and a question for each of them:

1- I can mask my me.com address - how can I do this?
2- I can finally change the CNAME and publish throw my domain - What will happen when people enter my previous me.com address? Is there a way to redirect?

What would you do in my position?

Thanks a lot!
Veronica

Hi there,
i want to understand the Principle of "how to get the Code inside of a Widget".
as example i have found this <a href=""http://simpleviewer.net/tiltviewer/"">Tiltviewer
here would it be great if someone could tell me what i need to do.

Inside the Download are:
.swf
.js
.xml
(as i know / expect, they do the Gallery Stuff)

and also the Index.html
What should be the one that i need to edit, as i guess.
So if someone can tell me, what is the Rule, the Phrase or what need to be in the Code that it fit directly in a HTML Widget. I want to have this Info to be more flexible and to understand how it works. The Tilt Viewer is nice but just ment as an example.

Best Regards and thanks in Advance from Germany

Converted a Quicktime movie to flash using Wondershare Video Converter Pro. Used the iWebUnlimited scrip from here: http://iwebunlimited.com/video_tutorials/video-tutorial-flash-video-in-iweb/ . Using the player suggested in video tutorial. Web site currently on web.me. Works okay except...
1. How do I get rid of the control strip on the bottom of the movie?
2. How do I get the movie to auto start?
3. How do I get the movie to loop?

Once I get this site completely working on my web.me I want to have this site play from a CD.
1. What do I put in the flash scrip to direct it to the right location on the CD so it will play? Tried it on hard drive and didn't work.

Hey,
I've been trying to set up a way that my website users can upload photos and documents to my website. so far only two solutions: 1. have a link to my mobileme public account- but this isn't great as it is very different from site and involves too much page changing.
and 2: use the blog with comments and attachments enabled_ but this is worse as there is file size limit and also i don't blog.
Any help or suggestion?
Thanks

Also every time I publish a change I have to do the whole code edit again, Is there a better way to achieve this?

Does anyone know of any issues between the two? Issues concerning hosting and publishing? I'm having (still) problems getting sites to load that are specifically hosted by GoDaddy.

I personally use another hosting service, but have a number of clients who go through a local agent--who hosts through them.

I'm not absolutely sure that the GD host is my problem...just trying to gather info to narrow down the problem...

Hi,

I spent hours trying to do, but I failed.

I tried to add a rotate banner and a menu interactive, that I got from this website: http://www.flashxml.net/video-player.html or http://www.flashxml.net/banner-rotator.html

I tried to add the code mixing with other code gave by this website, but it didn't work. The only thing I could see on the HTML Snippet square, was a white page with logo from the website on the top left corner.

So my question is: Is possible to do it with iweb? If is possible: How do I do? Is it difficult? Can I link the interaction buttons to other pages?

I hope to find solution for this, any help would be great.

By the way, I use host on server, I do not use iDisk.

So I have been trying to get something to work in iWeb for a long time, and have had zero success. It deals with background images. I want my background image to come on, but fill the page. So if I go in to the inspector and set the page BG as none, and Browser background as my photo it almost works. The issue is when I resize my window. I want the picture to remain in the BG and fit the screen. I also want any text I add to the page to remain static. I don't know if it is possible, but what I am going for is something like this.

http://www.weiss-heiten.eu/

When you resize your window, the picture sizes itself with it. So far I am having no luck at all trying to put stuff in to html widgets. If any of you lot can help me out that would be great. If what I want can't be done, well then so it goes.

Thanks,

Is there any way to show 8 different vimeo videos separately by clicking on them and having an iframe for each video pop up? My concern would be by the 3rd video the html snippets would all be on top of eachother. I'm avoiding flash, is there anything I can do? I currently have each video having its own page but that creates a lot of pages to deal with for links to everything. Let me know.

Hello, I'm a novice to iweb. I created a site for jewelry sales using the 'my album' template page because I liked that users could click to enlarge photos to see detail and the caption would remain with the photo when it enlarged. I'd like to add PayPal widgets (or hyperlink) to each photo so that people can purchase immediately, but the template won't seem to allow it. I also tried starting from scratch using a blank page, but ran into the problem that the ability to enlarge each photo in connection with both its descriptive caption and "purchase now" widget button seem far beyond my level of expertise. It seems the easiest way would be to somehow override the 'my album' template restraints... Is this even possible? Your input and any suggestions are highly appreciated!

How to make an URL of my home page to be http://www.mysite.com/ instead of http://www.mysite.com/sitename/mypage.html if publishing to my server directly in iWeb as which forced to generate an extra folder by Sitename? I know it could be figure out by moving all the files to root level in the server by trash the extra folder as well as changing the name of mypage.html to index.html, or publishing all the files locally in advance and then upload the files to the server without the extra folder. However, both of above ways seems not make sense as it must go through the changing steps for each time to make an update. Moreover, it's a bit annoying to upload all of files to the server whatever the pages were changed or not if publishing locally firstly. Hope that somebody could help. Thanks in advance!

Ok,
So I built a pretty cool looking website which i am very proud of with iWeb. Everything works decent except for a couple of things. I have embedded a forum using an html snippet and wen the comments build up the forum page will grow. I understand that i can add code to give it a scrollbar when it exceeds the original size. However a scrollbar within a webpage looks amateurish especially for a forum. How can I make it so the iFrame will automatically resize itself as the page grows? Also, when links are clicked within my iFrames, the page will obviously load within the iFrame, but the outer page remains scrolled at its previous position. Is there any possible way to make it so the entire page will be brought back to the top? Please help me I have loooked everywhere but have found no solutions. My website is ruckingfutgers.com

Firstly, thank you to iWebUnlimited for a great site with a lot of useful tips. I have learned a lot and i'm slowly incorporating some of the great features here onto my site.

I would like to ask if there is a good workflow to allow you to save the html code that is sometimes required to add some of these features so in case you need to republish with iweb you don't have to start all over again. I'd like to get this clear in my head before I start putting in the time to add features to my individual pages.

At the moment, I am publishing to a mobile me account while building the site. Once it is completed I will publish to another host using a CNAME.

Is this legal or not?

I know this is probably simple, but how do I repeat the header information on all pages without copy and paste onto each new page? Exactly how the iWebUnlimited.com header with: home, terms of use....... repeats on all pages

How do I make a button like the Add New topic button to the right, so when it works like a rollover but when your click it the image changes also. Sorta like the apple menu bar.
