MobileMe Web Gallery in iWeb

We all love the MobileMe (.Mac) Web Gallery for sharing photos, uploading, downloading, etc. and it’s great how iWeb has the little integration with the gallery in the Web Widgets.

But all you get is a little tiny window of skimming photos that then takes you to the gallery in a new window. So here is how you can get your entire gallery in iWeb so visitors won’t ever have to leave your iWeb site at all which will also let you decorate around your gallery. Here’s how.

VIEW DEMO »

Step 1:
Choose an HTML snippet from the Web Widgets.

Step 2:
Paste this code below replacing the items in red with your own MobileMe (.Mac) name and the size you want it to be on your page.

<iframe height="600" width="800" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="border:none" src="https://gallery.me.com/yourusername"></iframe>

Step 3:
Click “Apply” and resize and position the snippet till it fits well on your page and your set.

Sizing suggestions:
You’ll need to make your snippet at least 800px by 350px to get the scroll bar to show up (assuming you have enough published events and videos to make it scroll)

Other Options:
If you want to have a specific gallery to show up use this code below:

<iframe height="600" width="800" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="border:none" src="https://gallery.me.com/membername#albumnumber&view=mosaic&bgcolor=dkgrey"></iframe>

you can equally just copy and paste the URL for the gallery look and feel you want. For example if you want the background of your gallery to be white in iWeb then visit your page online make the background white, then just copy the URL and paste it into the section in red below.

<iframe height="600" width="800" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="border:none" src="https://gallery.mac.com/membername#albumnumber&view=mosaic&bgcolor=dkgrey"></iframe>

Good luck with it and have fun.

Yes Mike you need a mobileMe account to have access to your mobileMe gallery and much more. No so expensive in my view …

    G,day,

    This is really slick.
I have been trying to do extra clever things with iweb and I am glad to have found your site.
This little piece of code is so helpful.
    Keep up the good work.

Makes my mobileMe account much more useful to have things that iweb can make it do.

    Thanks again

    David

This is a great tip. Is it possible to change the “MOVIES” title that comes along from the mobile me gallery?

Also, is it possible to embed individual clips from my mobileme Gallery? Right now I have my entire gallery but would love to be more selective.

    Thanks

Is it possible to add the mobileme iframe in a non-iweb website? Will it function properly? And can I enable users to upload? For example I’m putting this on a website closed to the public.

Great site! Super helpful. Realizing very quickly how much i actually can do with iweb, where I started off thinking it was a very basic, limited tool.

What I would love to do is learn how to set up a gallery (post-mobile me) where viewers can easily and impressively both a) look at a slideshow and b) download any or all of the photos they want to their computer.

    Any thoughts?
