Dear Apple

We have a large community of users that use and love your application iWeb. The last iLife upgrade we were all very excited to see a new version of iWeb and finally get some features we’d been waiting for.  Instead we see that you only updated iPhoto, iMovie, and Garageband.  I think we can understand why you didn’t update iDVD, as digital video is becoming much easier to share in ways other than DVD, but many of us can’t understand why in a world would you discontinue development of iWeb when the internet is only growing and web development is becoming such a huge part of the world around us.

iWeb is pure and simply the easiest way to create a website on a Mac and we think it should stay that way.  So I’ve created a poll to show you how many users would like iWeb to continue.  You can view the numbers below.  Our question is how many people and votes would it take to convince you that there is still a large amount of users that still want iWeb in development from Apple?  Hopefully you can see by the vote results below and the comments of those who truly care and will see that this application is truly worth continuing as part of the iLife suite.

I posted this (August 6 ,2011) in “iWeb and beyond”:

    “To all iWebUnlimited.com community:

Let’s sign a letter to Mr. Jobs showin’ that there are places, people like us around the world that appreciate and supports a great software like IWeb, including all the reasons you posted before (and will post surely in the future).

Why don’t we show in an official way that we’re really concerned about what Apple is gonna do with such a great application and even more important what about the respect shown to the million of users around the world that had confidence in its products…”

Nothing more to say than THANK YOU VERY MUCH by making that idea becoming alive!…..I hope our “dear Apple” really listen to us.

It seems that Apple have already made the decision to drop iweb and they are not going back on that. Although everyone here wants it to continue I doubt that a few hundred votes will make the difference. What I hope is that someone else will take up iweb or produce a very similar tool. What I love about iweb is that it is (almost) exactly like iwork so I know what I’m doing. Anybody out there want to take over iweb from Apple? There’s obviously a market….

I hope Apple won’t forget the mac users…everywhere i hear iphone, ipad, ios, apps…and stuff like this.
What about the regular mac users? The iWeb users?

I don’t need more iphone’s, ipad’s, ios updates every week – what happend to this company?

If there will be no new version od iWeb I simply will have to buy something else from another brand.

I wouldn’t be able to build a website and have a web presence if it weren’t for iweb. This software levels the playing field for average people to get it on the internet marketing thing. Apple users have been loyal to apple, I hope they will be loyal to us and continue the iweb program!

    Dear Apple.

Yes, I love iweb and I agree that you should continue to innovate and update. as is your style. Thank you Apple for continuing to be a righteous company that stays current and environmentally responsible. Many thanks for your greatness.

Jason here are iwebunlimmitted is an excellent guide of your program. He has generously shared his insights and shortcuts in numerous video tutorials and generally has opens the way for your customers to maximize iwebs potential.

It is clear that iwebUnlimited has demonstrated a profound understanding of your program and as such places itself as an obvious choice for sourcing innovation. Hire these folks to help develop new brilliant ideas for new iweb updates.

Specific upgrades I would like are:

please make a function to resize pictures for the web, with a place to define pixel size _____ pixels x _______pixels and upload as web safe. that would be most helpful!

    * also, please add drop down navigation menu.

    Thank you,
    Tara Griffin

    Dear Apple,

Lets honor Steves Jobs by remembering what his mission was…to bring computers and technology to the consumers and not just the big corporations. iWeb allows consumers and small business to expand and iWebUnlimited makes that possible. Please support the people that support Apple and Steve Jobs!

    Thank you

Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to stop hackers?

As a graphic designer for 20 years I never got into web design because I thought it was too hard to learn and it would take me too long to master it. And them i found Iweb and i have never been this busy.
Iweb has changed my career and broaden my income stream. I love apple and I have been a apple user for 20 years. I love iweb and I hope to be using it for many more years to come.

I’ve checked out Freeway, Rapid Weaver and Sandvox (the closest to iWeb) but not one measures up to the flexibility and the intuitive nature of iWeb.

Come on Apple iWeb is just so good. If I can build a web site with it it must be easy to use. With what I have learned I could not get the other applications to get anywhere near iWebs capabilities. I read the reviews but Apple’s iWeb is by far the BEST.

Let’s see its support and development.

I have used Mac products for years and plan on continuing. I would really like to see 2012 usher in an upgraded version of iWeb. My main reason . . . it would be Apple’s.

How could Apple be so blind about this issue? With the popularity of the internet and everyones use of it, how could they leave this huge, black hole? What happened to the Apple that was performance driven, not money driven?

Hey Steve! Scream down from above at your developers! It’s always worked worked for you before!! WE NEED iWeb!!!

Click on my name link above, and you’ll see what iWeb is truly capable of, even from someone who knows little about HTML coding. Just iWeb and a few snippets.

Hey, Apple, you listening?? iWeb doesn’t need to go away, it needs to go forth! Build a pro version, and you can name your price. We’d all pay it, because it would be cheaper than learning visually brain dead, non-intuitive programs like Dreamweaver.
